Tasks of a  Web Designer!

Being a web designer for the best digital agency in Leeds means that you have a busy yet compelling and active day every day. Below is a list of my activities on a typical day on 05 March 2010.

07:00 - Woke up. A lovely sunny day today in Leeds considering it has been so cold and miserable recently.

08:00 - Arrive at work and start the day with a cup of coffee and read my emails.

08:30 - Team meeting where we discuss the previous days achievements, difficulties and plan the day ahead.

09:00 - Make some phone calls to clients to obtain information regarding their current web projects and get feedback on current work so far.

09:30 - Create wire frame design of web site which details positions of conrols and elements and allows customer to get an understanding of how their web site will work in practice.

11:00 - Urgent call taken from client outlining their need to add some content to their web site within next four hours because of PR campaign in Leeds magazine and need to mock up a design.

11:50 - Email and then ring customer to go through design.

12:00 - Client has approved web design and I am implementing into their existing web site.

13:00 - Taking my lunch. Something healthy I think.

13:30 - Back from lunch had a salad. Communicating with client again to go through new content implemented into their web site and make sure they are happy.

14:00 - Helping one of our junior web designers plan a new web project.

14:35 - Researching some new AJAX frameworks which will give a faster response time and provide a simpler integration of controls for all of our web designers.

15:30 - Switch to another ongoing web project and begin implementing CSS libraries which help with clean web design practices and maintainability.

16:40 - Meeting with client at their Leeds offices to discuss their current online strategy and propose some design updates and additional web marketing strategy going forward.

17:45 - Update with team and junior web designers in Leeds office to make sure everything has run smoothly today and resolve any issues that have cropped up.

18:30 - Check web servers to make sure they are running smoothly and without issue.

19:00 - Go home. What a busy day. Completed all tasks and clients all happy.
